HI, i went for the post too at the beginning of May. I have been in the Dept for 10 yrs as an AO.
I heard I was successful four weeks ago. Typical DWP style though it hasn't been made easy getting a posting.
Firstly, although I have been an employee for 10 yrs they still wanted a CRB check done, references and my P60 or employment contract to prove my last 3 years work!!!
Er, hello but I work for u, surely i don't need to do this?? They insisted I did. Anyway after a week or so I called the checking team who told me checks didn't need to be done!
Anyway it has taken 3 weeks of me pushing and questioning what was going on for me to finally get posted. I start tomorrow as a PA.
Oh and not before they wasn't sure whether my PT hrs wld affect my posting! A gov dept trying to get people back to work and they can't seem to look after their own!! I am a single parent of 3 and need to work PT!
Good luck all and keep pestering those HR people!0 -
They were quick getting back to you then !!!!! did they inform you verbally that you were successful ?0
-
treasureirealnds - firstly well done and I hope you get on ok as a PA :T
Was it the interviews at Bramall Lane you went to then?
I think we are waiting for a different set of results from the Hillsborough interviews run by Capita!0 -
Morning, Doc
Got my thanks but no thanks letter this morning
Gonna give up with DWP methinks. Think problem with them is that I am a legal exec, and as such used to working in my own office, with very little admin support, being a stand alone lawyer.
They obviously want more team work and I obviously didn't convince them
Crap:(
Hope you got a successful letter. Do let me know.0 -
Hey - I'm really sorry you didn't get through that really sucks and it sounds like you could have brought some great skills to the business. I guess it's even worse in a way cos you had to wait so long for it : ( Make sure to ask for feedback as they have to give you some if you get to interview stage - it should let you know where they thought you needed to build on the competencies,
I had to sit in the office all afternoon knowing that the letters had gone out - have just got home and opened it and have got through so I am really pleased - don't know how our manager will take it though there are three of us on my team that have got through.
AnywayI hope you find something soon - I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be. Just a heads up we had a internal email today to say there will be another EO/Band C recruitment going live in the next few weeks. It could be worth another go and if you want any help let me know xx0 -
Congratulations:beer: Really made up for you. Well done, doc:T
I have requested feedback today, so will wait to see if they send anything through.
Will also look out for any other positions that come up. Notice there are some for West Yorkshire this week. Do you know whether there will be any more for this area?
Anyway, well done again. Have a large one on me :rotfl:0 -
Thanks just have to wait for a placement now!!!!
Yeah they are doing an AO recruitment for South Yorkshire starting on Monday.
Also had an email about further EO recruitment as not even people passed this time round - they need to fill 150 vacancies. Don't know date yet but should be soon. If I hear anything I'll let you know but make sure to keep an eye on the DWP website too
If you want any advice or help let me know xx0 -
Ok.
Many thanks
Having bad day. Dog got his tail trapped in car door, and then got a stick wedged in his mouth !!!
Need to get back to work. Can't do with the stress !!!0 -
Hi, Doc
Do you know what he pass mark is for the interviews?0 -
Hiya - hope dog has recovered!!!
Was just reading your other post about this.
Before they changed the competencies you had to get a 4 or above in all competencies and a 4 or above for 'communication' - total 20. However looks like this must have changed with the competenciesif you got a 24
Basically a 1-3 was unnacceptable
4-6 average score
7-9 exceptional
(or something like that)
You had to get at least a four in everything and then they based the merit list on whatever the overall scores were.
I'll try and find out what has changed for you tomorrow if you like?
On a diff note found out last thing Fri that the posts are prob only gonna be 18months now not 3 years as advertised so........................:mad:0
