Hi guys, in my last 2 cakes I've used Pampers Super Dry Size 3. I'm using them at the moment on my son too and actually quite like them for the price. The only thing I'm not so keen on is that they have lots of colours on the top of them which you see when they are rolled. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so this bugs me lol!! I've made 3 cakes now hopefully ill be able to post photos soon x

Hi, That's why I have carried on using the "Newborn" size 3 because they are white with just a strip at top. I think the newborn are a bit dearer though!
  • I use Pampers or Huggies in my cakes, usually wait for the offers then stock up as I don't like to pay over 9p per nappy. The last few times I have used Pampers Simply dry as they have worked out the best value and I always use size 3s. I think Tescos have got some good offers on at the minute plus I have got some Pampers vouchers to use :)

Hi! Nappy question again I'm afraid !!!! :(

Are you all using Pampers Simply Dry, Super Dry or Baby Dry?
Could you let me know what colour the packs are and also what colour the Nappies are?

Am in process of changing my Nappies and totally confused with the "slightly" different names.

I use simply dry size 3, white nappy's with coloured band, in green box,
just use what you are happy with and the most economical to buy, I personally have never used huggies in my nappy cakes but at the moment Mothercare are selling Giga boxes with 192 nappys in on a buy 2 get 1 free offer so the nappys are working out at around 8p each which is very good so I am going to buy them this time round as the Pampers are quite expensive at the moment as there are no offers on them, plus I usually find that new mum's have a preference and you are never going to get it right, some prefer Pampers other Huggies or some other brand. ;) Janey

I vary between Pampers simply dry size 3 and little angels nappies from asda, size 3.

Asda were selling off there size 1 nappies last week for £1! Got 6 for making motorbikes with!

    thanks! Janey & Liz
When I started, I bought Boots own make newborn size 2, and same size in Tesco own make.
They were really thick - made me think they would be so uncomfortable for a little baby with a great wad of Nappy. Made great cakes though - didn't have to use many!

When you think about it, a cakes worth of Nappies isn't going to last very long anyway so not worth fussing over which ones.

About the Huggies, the newborn Organic are quite nice (softer colours). The only difference in size from 2 to 3 is the length. Thought they would be thicker.

Is anyone doing any Christmas Cakes yet?

  • Hi all,

I'm about to attempt to make my first nappy cake for a friend who is due in November. Just wondered if anyone had seen any good nappy deals recently?
  • Hi all

V.excited just been to wholesaler which is very local which I found on the back of a discussion on here so thanks!! They were about to shut but so I am going back again tomorrow.

I just have a quick question and I know its a stupid one but anyway - I am doing a Makers Market next weekend and hopeing to take some orders. For those of you who do craft fairs etc do you take full payment there and then for any orders you take?

Also does anyone know where I can get hold of NICE smallish christmas bears? Wanting to make a couple of cakes for christmas fairs coming up. I am also making sock christmas puddings!

    Thanks for any help
    sharon
