Hi Carmim, Your cake is beautiful! Well done! especially for only a second attempt! Is there a simple way of removing background from pics like you have done?
Has anyone seen any soft toy cows? I want brown patch ones rather than black. I bought some gorgeous brown cow print blankets from Asda for half price but now I need some cows to go with. LOL0 -

I haven't used the M and S towel bales as yet. the royal blue ones in the pic above are Asda as they were the only ones with the exact shade I needed
as for costing for the nappy cakes: as a starter you will need approx 36 ish size 3 pampers. so best if you go window shopping with a pen and pad. that way you can make up your own costings list and work from that.. I have made lots and lots of nappy cakes. towel cakes and sock monkeys etc, and not a fortune is made but one can never make a fortune from hand made craft goods I think. As long as you cover your costs just add on what you think you would like to add that is reasonable or what you think the people you know would pay.
For me personally I make an average between £5 and £7 on each nappy cake but by doing that I sell many0 -

Just wanted to say that i too only make a little bit on top of the cost of the cake, however if you shop around & buy bits on offer then you can make a bit more!

Thanks for the replies, I tihnk I will have a go at a towel cake first(looks easier - could be wrong lol!!)
COuld you just tell me how many of each size towel I need? ThanksAvon sales - C4 £1080 -
Hi Happy,
I used the M & S towel bale, it was in their sale a few weeks ago and was £5.40 for 2 x bath towels, 2 x hand towels, 2 x face cloths. I bought an extra couple of face cloths to fill out the top layer more. I've not done towel cakes to sell only this one as a little gift but I aim to make appx £15 per nappy cake I do but have yet to make a profit as I constantly reinvest into new stock until I'm happy with a cake that I really want to push to make a go of. At the mo I don't advertise, I just get orders word of mouth.0 -
Hi all.Ive been lurking on this thread and love all the cakes. I am a soon to be grandmother and want to make one.
I see some of you are looking for ellies. There was a basket of them in asda Dumbarton the other night at £3.
Can I ask what you use the silicone cups for. Thanks0
