I have been reading since the start of the thread and have got to page 15! Been waiting for ages for the opportunity to make one! Currently undecided as to whether I should wait until my friend has had her baby and make a gender specific one or whether to just make a neutral one now???Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Rummer, I'd say make one now, just think of all the people that she will show it too, before and after the baby is born ..... might get you a few orders from itA creative mess is better than tidy idleness0

I think I will make one when I am paid. Meeting up with her in fortnights time so I could give it to her then. Not sure where to start, maybe a bit more reading before I go shopping!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

if you lay it flat and make 1cm cuts every 5cm or so along the bottom line them fix a good quality double sided tape (i use sellotape brand) then take backing off as you roll the cake board on its side along so that you stick it to the back. Then put right way up and insert the cake. This is how I do it. Hope that makes sense. Is quite quick and the easiest way of doing it that I have found.
Blimey, I dont think I would have the time to do it that way but it sounds good.
The way I do it is by standing my cake on top of a cake tin that is narrower than the cake board. Then I wrap the cello around so its bottom edge comes right down below the cake board. I then tape up one edge. Lay the whole cake on its back and tape like mad underneath. Stand it up again and gather the top and tie with a pull bow.
Hope that makes sense ?? lol

Hello,
I originally tried doing it off the edge of the table as a few others do but found I was getting it in a right old mess. It does not take long to do the cuts etc.
But it is which ever suits you isn't it.
re christmas it seems to be launching across shops at the end of october but they get bits in before.
I have just been calling all the schools in the area and so many of them are not doing christmas fairs this year!!!! Has anyone else found this. I love doing the schools am so dissappointed!0 -
