Emachines 220 Not Switching On
Comments
-
I've repaired about a dozen Emachines, ALL with problems caused by faulty PSU's in the last 6 weeks. If you're lucky, it'll just be a straight 350/400W power unit (about £25 to supply & fit). If you're unlucky, it can take out any or all of the following: board, processor, memory, optical drive(s) and the CPU. I think I had 2 that had a complete loss of hardware, the rest had varying degrees of damage.
I hate to be the harbinger of doom, but I'd prepare for the worst

Thanks for all your advice, i havent been in for a while as had other things on. Bascially took the computer to repair shop and they found the motherboard was faulty. That cost me £97 to replace it and clean up the comuter.
Bought the computer home and used without a problem for about a month and then had the exact same problem. Took back to the shop and this time it was the CPU had gone apparently. £30 to fix.
Now touch wood all is ok and working again!!
Thanks again all0
