How long does it take for DLA acknowledgement ?

I sent my renewal in a week ago, they would have had it last Thursday but as yet I've had no acknowledgement. How soon does that come in ?

    Good luck with this.
Maybe the bank holiday will hold up any post.
However, if you hear nothing by maybe next Monday, give them a quick call, I know anxiety kicks in doesn't it?

    Fingers crossed for you.;)

Thank you. I have to see my GP in a while anyway, so will ask her if she's heard from them yet as well. That might give a clue if things are moving. I'm almost too scared to ring in case they say they havent got it but I did take a photocopy of everything.

Still havent heard :( I will leave it til Monday. I know they would have received it last Thursday, but they may not have looked at it straight away ?? and then it was Bank holiday, so if I wait til Monday that's another 2 days post. I'm really panicky now tho :(

You have to give them a chance as they have a lot of post to open each day. Expecting a reply in a week or so is rather optimistic of you, especially considering we've had a bank holiday.

I think you need to give them at least 3 weeks to acknowledge receipt of your forms. You might hear sooner if you're lucky, but you just have to be patient.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Hi, mine was renewed in April but it took quite a while. When we phoned to check up on it, they told us they were wading through an 11 week backlog at the moment.

When I applied the first time in November 2007 I had a reply 2 days later to say they had received it. I am just comparing with that, but I have read here it is taking longer so was kind of ready. Just so panicky. I cant not get it :(

I didn't get an acknowledgement for mine either. I rang them 2 weeks after it was posted, and they told me it was with the decision maker.
Less than 2 weeks after the phone call, I had the decision.
I really think it depends on how busy they are, it's very worrying I know, and maybe you could ring and say you wanted to check it had got there ok. Good luck!

Recorded delivery is no guarentee that the department that is dealing with you claim has received your claim. All mail goes to a central post room then it is delivered to the relevant department. I got an acknowledge of my renewal for DLA after about 2/3 weeks, then my award after about 6/7 weeks.
