Hi
Can somebody tell me if it is correct that if you have a contract phone of which the contract is still ongoing, you cannot put the sim into another phone and sell that contract phone?
The contract is with O2 by the way.
Thanks
Sue

The sim card will go in any o2 or unlocked phone. You can do what you like with the phone you got with the contract0

as long as you keep paying the contract you can do as you like with the phone0

The phone does not form part of the contract. The contract is for the airtime. It states this in the T& Cs in every contract i have had. Therefore you are free to do whatever you like with the phone. I have sold several.0

The reason I ask is because I advertised my pink motorola razr and I told them it was a contract phone but I had put the sim in another phone to continue the contract and he said it wasnt mine to sell as if I stopped payments the phone would be locked and then useless. I have no intention of stopping the contract, but should I be honest in telling people it is a contract phone if they ask or say nothing?
Thanks

Of course it's yours to sell. It's not bought on HP.
Did you read Carly's post ?
It's now, in-effect a "SIM-free" handset...end of story...0 -
You can sell this phone with no problems.
If anyone asks just tell them it was on a contract but you have now upgrdaded and this one is now surplus to requirements. Easy!
If they ask any more stupid questions just block them from your auctions - presuming you are selling this on ebay!0 -
The phone is yours - do what you want with it. It isnt anyones business to know how you bought it and and what you are doing with the SIM that came with it.
You havent acquired it illegally, and as long as you maintain the payments on that contract all is well
