Yep seriously and they have just ordered a second one from what I hear. For the designer my GF works for it's no surprise, you can have a cheap one for £10k

Oh and if you had a replacement it proves that the item is not up to the standard expected and you have suffered disappointment don't ask for a refund, demand one or if you really like the dress ask for a massive discount then pay for a seamstress to repair it for you. If you choose this option then it may be worth getting a quote first.

Hmm, not such a bargain if it falls to pieces after one wear. I'm a 'New Look' kind of girl so £80 to me seems like quality should be expected

It was only a joke - a bit of irony!

About 25 years ago, I paid £25 for a really pretty summer dress and wore it to my friend's wedding. It shrunk after one wash (it was cotton but it shrunk diagonally, so it looked really odd). The shop owner gave me my money back but also said it was my fault it shrunk because I'd bought such a cheap dress, lol!
Unsurprisingly, the shop didn't last long.

Hi I absolutely love East clothing and I think you were very unlucky. I think the store did all the right things and maybe it was down to the individual sales assistant just not going that extra mile for customer satisfaction. Many of their clothes are hand made or have hand made detailling and sometimes these things happen but if ever I have had a problem I have taken it back to the Milton Keynes shop and they could not have been more helpful. I did have a very similar experience to you with Minuet and they handled things pretty much the same and I thought that was fair. Just wanted to add that for any East clothing fans out there they are currently offering a £29.00 Kaftan free on orders over £100.00

I am off to the site now to bag mine!
