Orange Mobile Broadband (dongle)

Hi All,
I've had a quick search and couldnt find this so bear with me - does anyone use this service?
I'm looking at 3gb a month for £14.69 - I just wondered what the average speed was like? I'm quite restricted because I use an ASUS EEE and only a few dongles work (its linux) and orange is the only one with signal at my postcode but I'm loathed to be stuck in an 18 month contract if its naff and I'll just get a pay as you go one for now...
Anyway enough rambling - any experiences of orange dongles please would be very helpful
