Twins at University

Can anyone tell me if you have twins both attending different universities if the gross income of the parents used for grant application remains the same? Our combined income is £60k which means we are entitled to little or no grant based on one student attending university but does it make any difference with two students attending simultaneously?
Thanks

Nope- three of my sisters were at uni at the same time and no account was taken at all. Unless it has changed drastically in the last few years but I don't think so. I think it's a joke, my parents couldn't afford to pay very much towards anything but it didn't matter. I think the means tested should be based more on circumstances0

I thought other siblings being at university was taken into account. Isn't one of the questions on the form something like "how many other dependents at being supported, etc..."0

It only affects the calculated contribution towards the maintenance loan, which is then split by how many children are at university. No affect on the amount of grant available if they're over the threshold.0

Will have two at Uni in the Autumn - makes no difference at all. We are also at the threshold so no help at all. Sorry !!0

Please can anyone help? My partner rents a 2 bed house with his 21 yr old son, who is nearing the end of the second year of a 4 yr masters at uni. He gets a grant which takes his dads 2 jobs into acount and he himself works p/time evenings.
We now want to live together at my home. His son says he cant afford to rent anywhere with his student grant+commitments, and doesnt really want to live here with us! His dad cant afford to pay keep here and 600 rent a month in his rented house for his son.
IF the son was to move in here, he says he would lose most if not all of his grant as it would also become based on my income? is that correct and has nyone got any advice to offer us or know of any options? it just seems that at nearly 50, we are now both are at the mercy of his uni plans for the next 2 years after !

Why can't the son use the money he pays for his share of the current rent to rent somewhere else?If he gets both the Maintenance Loan and Maintenance Grant then he has as much money as any other student to support himself independently, particularly as he works part time. It sounds like a case for some tough love as he's obviously become too used to a cushy life!
