My key aim is not to earn 2k, which I've almost doubled I might add, but to make an EXTRA 2k per year on top of what I already make. This is the Moneysavingexpert website, there are lots of challenges people undertake here and as I don't work due to having a number of illnesses I like being able to earn some extra money for my family. This is a website for people who want to make and save money, why are you here if you have this huge salary and don't need to make or save extra money? (Which you obviously don't if you have to mock something in my signature).
Katy is clearly not a male name.
Why come to a thread like this if you don't want to post about wages?!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Age 28, Oil Indutry Analyst, 32K
Decent benefits package of pension (5% from employer for my 3%), gym membership, healthcare, 30 days holiday, share scheme.
Pros: Interesting work, regular overseas travel, 5 day week.
Cons: Actaully working in the oil industry (as opposed to being an analyst) might pay double my wage!Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.
Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j0 -

I've never thought to look at the progression in salary, interesting.
I can't remember as far back as when I first started working but will go from uni.
I'm now a Principal Teacher, specialising in a specific area of education.
20 yrs- Call centre - if I remember correctly this went from around £5k per year to about £8k.
24 yrs - first year of teaching - £20,937
25 yrs - second year of teaching - £25,716
26 yrs - third year of teaching - £27,243
27 yrs - fourth year of teaching - £28,794
27 yrs - promotion - £41,925.
28 yrs - as above.

I'm a 'professional' gambler. I put it in 's because the lifestyle you see on telly for poker players and such is not the true thing.
I had £10k starting capital, and play poker maybe 4 nights a week. As you can expect it's very swingy depending on how much a factor luck is that particular night and i've won and lost anywhere from £700+ per night.
I'd say i average about £12k profit per year, but it is all tax free.

2001 - telecoms apprentice - £11k
2003 - telecoms officer - £18k
2005 - pay progression - £25k
2007 - commercial manager - £32k
2010 - pay progression -£38k
2012 - vendor manager - £41k
2013 - contract manager - £53k
Didn't finish my a-levels or go to uni. Getting into the apprentice scheme at a large blue chip company was a great start roomy career, didnt realise it at the time.
Work hard, develop yourself and show willingness to progress and it is possible to work yourself up the ladder.0
