Soolin, thanks. I actually won these tickets in a competition so it wasn't like I'd have lost out financially, it was a surprise win.
I am VERY concerned though about my Glastonbury tickets which are in transit, recorded delivery though as if I don't get them on Monday it'll be too late as am going away.0 -

You may notice I have a slight bias here , but I hate recorded with a vengeance. I can see no point with it nor do I think people using it understand it at all. A lot of big companies use it as they think it gives them more protection against scams as they cna prove delivery (ha!) in cases of dispute.
However, it is not worth the 75p people fork out for it. It is just standard mail so can take forever to arrive, half the time no one bothers with a signature and there is no more compensation availble for using it than there is for standard mail sent with a free COP.
My work requires me to send items recorded and in October 2008 not one single item I paid (well they paid really) 75P to send recorded ever showed as delivered online. Not one item..how is that any better than just bunging it in a post box? Incidentally all those item were received regardless of what Royal mail thought.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the warning; I thought R.D gave you a bit of protection up to a certain value. I now know better, and the amount of R.D things we (my housemates and I) get through our door with no signature required is staggering.0
