Hiya,
Just sold an item on ebay. Paypal have put a hold on the funds until it is posted or feedback has been left, as always.
Usually they take the hold off the funds when you refund 1p, I have done this yet they are still holding the funds.
Have they stopped this? Is there any other wat to get them to release it?
Thanks

They've caught on to the 1p trick now. Why not just post and wait for feedback as PP has mentioned?0

I have a similar query I sold a DSi for £150 the buyer paid straight away and I sent special delivery.
The item has been received and signed for 2 weeks ago and I have asked the buyer to leave feedback (Which they have ignored)
If I have proof of postage (Receipt and tracking number) how can I get the money released if the buyer will not leave feedback as I do not wish to wait the 21 days :rolleyes:0 -

Feedback is voluntary. If the buyer doesn't want to leave it, they are not obliged to. They may not even be near the computer to receive your messages or leave the feedback - they may have taken the item on holiday.
If you did not want to wait the 21 days, then maybe ebay was not the best place for the item to be sold - easy to say in retrospect, but I believe there is a warning that appears just before you submit the listing.
Once you have over 100 feedback, decent DSR's and a verified account etc, this is no longer a problem. It's just unfortunate that a lot of scam sellers have a similar profile - not much history of selling desirable, high value items, lowish feedback etc.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

If the item was sent 2 weeks ago then you don't have another 2 weeks to wait, just another week or less.
Make sure you have the tracking details ready in paypal and on day 21 start phoning paypal to remind them they need to release your funds.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. it clearly states paypal will realise after 21 days or before if the buyer leaves feedback or they can see delivery via tracking information.
If i was you i would input the special delivery information however even if you dont paypal automatically release after 21 days anyway, they did this for me and its 21 days from date payment received not date posted.0 -
Thank you for all the useful advice, lol.
Posted the item out, special delivery (£21, I only charged £15, ouch)
Buyer today is 'no longer registered on ebay', haha. She has managed to pick up a message I sent her asking if she recieved it okay, she replied saying it was delivered to her this morning and she is happy with it.
Is there NOTHING I can do except wait three weeks for them to release MY money? Will contacting paypal with the tracking information not help at all?
This is frustrating. I sold it 'cause I need the money. :rolleyes:0
