I thought that they DID check as routine.

As you know, I'm recently on CS2 and I was told they didn't. They are not allowed to access the TC screen and include the payments in the MA unless they have 'just cause' to believe that TC are being paid. That could either come from a request from the PWC or if the NRP declares that they do get TC.
  • Thanks for that Loopy Girl, so does that mean if the pwc puts in a review request and then asks for them to see if ctc/wtc is payable it will only be from the review date or because it was payable at the initial claim do csa back date it to then. I just have to hope my ex doesn't ever mention it to csa, as you can understand my wife would go ballistic if the money she gets in her account for our children is taken into account for my daughter.

Whilst they can't use the info, they can still check!

Yes, that's what they said. Although they can see that TC are being claimed they cannot be included as the norm for an assessment. It's only when the PWC requests or the NRP advises.

I wouldn't like to say for sure Eric, but I would assume that they could only include them from when the reassessment request is made. Much like if a PWC requests a reassessment due to a suspected pay rise for instance. The NRP could have been getting it for some time but it can only be included from the date of reassessment.

They don't check as routine, however, if the PWC indicates that they think/know that WTC is being claimed then they can advise the CSA and they have a duty to check this out and get it included if applicable.
this is interesting. I have just been told be someone at Bolton that they cannot act on CTC unless NRP tells them they are in receipt of CTC
????????????? I did ask him to give me the link to that in the CSA regs, as I find it hard to believe given what you guys are saying.
