Is CTC paid directly to you and you only, into your account? If so how can they use that, as it is paid to you!

When I looked at my claim my husbands name is not mentioned at all, so technically that money is paid to me not him!
  • I believe CSA 3 is one of the overrunning IT systems that the Tories are thinking of ditching.

IMHO CSA2 requiring a huge computer system is a farce !

I work in IT and something that works on straight percentages could be easily done in a small simple database not some huge convoluted monstrosity.
 I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex

I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )

Mmmmm they have used child benefit in one of my assesments i see so i will be pinging them an email soon.
  • Honestly

the benefits come from the government,

so all it would do would pass more momey around using more resources to do it.

Benefits are supposed to be the minimum to survive on so taking a big percentage would be unfair. but if they start great

Oh but hang on one of the problems is ( and the CSA have confirmed this is the case )

It doesn't matter how much the NRP is assessed to pay from benefits, if the officer administering those benefits thinks the deduction would be unfair to the NRP then they don't implement it. Imagine what would happen if an employer said to the CSA "this deduction leaves John Smith too little to live on, so we are not taking it."

Any child maintenance NOT paid via the CSA (ie a private agreement) to the NRPP IS included as part of the NRPP income and forms part of the overall household income, but it CANNOT be included if it is CSA maintenance.

Can I ask if this is the case for CSA2 as my partner pays on this?

My partner will be moving in with me soon so I will be the NRPP. I currently receive mainenance from my ex as a private arrangement not through CSA so does this mean that this money will be included as income for my partner and therefore 25% of it will go to his ex for their children?

If this is the case that is disgraceful that I will have to fund his children with my maintenance!

It will be linked to your husband somewhere along the line as tax credits claims must be claimed jointly if you are married/living together.

No it won't be. The amount under CSA2 is calculated with your partners earnings plus any WTC/CTC coming into the household as a joint claim.

Your arrangement with the father of your child(ren) will not be included.

Do the staff at csa check to see if the nrp and nrpp are getting ctc/wtc or is it just the "jobs worth" that do, i'm sure that many of the staff feel that it is unfair to include the income that comes from the nrp having a second family in the calculation. after all is the csas theory meant to be that the pwc/child/children have the same standard of living had the nrp still been in their household, and if this is the case then the ctc/wtc for the second family would not be there anyway as there would be no second family!!! just seems so unfair to me and many others i know.

They don't check as routine, however, if the PWC indicates that they think/know that WTC is being claimed then they can advise the CSA and they have a duty to check this out and get it included if applicable.
