Best hotel in Orlando is Gaylord palms.

I know the name is a bit - well - Gay. But believe me, superb hotel.

Look at it a different way.

What if someone told you they would PAY you £17.50 an hour EACH, including the 11 year old.
to sit on an aeroplane for 8 hours. (that how much your saving)

just treat the money you "earned" by flying the long way as holiday spends.:D

:rotfl:Gaylord Palms......... hmmm, I may pass.

Plus I just looked at it on Tripadviser and started to cry at the average nightly cost

I thought this was a money SAVING forum ;);)

Slightly tongue in cheek post this, but I ask you :

AM I INSANE ?? Or just slightly mad ?? :D

Ok here is the scenario :

Want a flight for 2 adults and 1 child ( age 11 ) from Manchester to Orlando, Florida, school holidays

Flights are ridiculously dear ! Best I can find direct are totally out of the question which leaves us with indirect.

1 stopover ( I.E. one connection, in the US ) is coming out at £1600.

Here is where it gets insane :rotfl:.... we could fly Manchester to Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf to Chicago, then Chicago to Orlando for £1180 with Lufthansa. They have a special deal on with FREE kids flights !!

But this means about an extra 8 hours flight time with an 11 year old.....

So I ask the question : If I do it, am I insane ?

    ;)
In one of the other forums I frequent there are a lot of people who would see the LH trip as far better than a direct flight. Three flights, two more airports and save money :T
But that is a forum for flight enthusiasts...
