C905 Swap

My C905 has broken for the 6th time and I've finally decided on a swap!

These are the replacements I've been offered....
Sony C902
Sony W705
Samsung Lucida
Samsung Tocco
Samsung F400
Nokia N95
Nokia 6600 Slide
Nokia 6220
Nokia 5800
Nokia E71

Any advice on which is the best to go for?

Thanks!

  • I love my Nokia E71.. wish there were some freebie games around for it, but you can't win them all. Only major downside is the bad camera.. but i have an dSLR for taking proper photos.

What do you want out of a phone? Camera/Radio/mp3/Video/Messaging?
  • I use the camera alot, that's why I went for the c905 originally, I don't really wanna go for the c902 or w705 cuz it would be downgrading as such. I also text alot, so I'm not sure how I'd get on with a touchscreen.
  • I'm always on the internet too!

I have had a 5800 for a week and am liking it. The touch screen is pretty easy to get on with - I text a lot as well. Not used the camera much do far but I have taken a couple of pictures and they look fine when I have them on my 17" monitor.
I can connect to my wifi at home and surfing is ok, it is easy to read (I have d/l Opera Mini for it)

(I was considering the C905 but opted for the 5800 due to cost, and have never owned a Nokia before and am happy with it)
  • The only thing is, I've always have Sonys so I have all m2 memory cards and everything else seems to use microSD, grr!

  • Not been offered that :( I was hoping they'd offer me a Blackberry tbh but no such luck.....
  • Think I'm leaning towards the C902, I know it's not as good but would rather stay with Sony. Gonna see if I can lower my tarriff as I only took out such a high one because of the price of the phone.
  • I've got the C902 and while it's alright, I wouldn't necessarily recommend one. The camera is good in daylight conditions but poop when you have to use the flash.
Unless you can downgrade your contract as well, I wouldn't have this in place of the 905.

I know you like sony but the N95 or 5800 would be better all round phones than the C902. As for the M2 cards, they are cheap as chips anyway, so I wouldnt base your phone choice on that.
I must admit, I am similar to you, in always getting Sony phones, but I would swap mine for an N95 (8gb) or 5800 any day.
  • I was exceptionally happy leaving Sony and its shoddy software behind me (that damn K850 was the last straw)

Have you ever printed any of your photos out? Do you ever look at them on the computer? I often find that people who think they want a camera on their phone rarely use it for things you'd traditionally do with a 'real' camera (i.e. looking at the photos)
