Hi, I found just over a £20 charge for Text messaging on my latest Vodafone bill. Vodafone told me that the charge was for Texts' I had RECEIVED i.e. not asked for and that they (Vodafone) charge that figure (£20) to the senders who are - zingtones.av. The only way they said, to stop them is to email help@zingtones.av this I have done. If it is true that Vodafone charge 'zingtones', then this a profit situation for them? True or not surely they can stop these unsolicited messages?
After argument, Vodafone have removed the £20 charge from my bill. How many people I wonder have paid their bills including charges for these not asked for texts?
PS MARTIN - I suspect these 'con texts' are earning the sender many thousand £'s. This could be your next crusade?0 -
I have just discovered that these people have scammed me for 15 messages at £1.25 each. Additionally of course I have had to pay VAT on this amount.
I have never heard of them before and certainly not asked them to contact me. I have therefore reported them to the controlling authority and have sent them a message
MESSAGE SENT TO 60699 MESSAGE READS STOP
I also emailed cs@zamano.com, told them I have reported this and demanding a refund. I have had a response with a reference number.
O2 were helpful but not to the extent that they would refund.0 -
