I think I will leave it for now then. I would'nt want any hassle for the girl as she is nice, also if there is a possibility that it could be above board I don't want to cause bother. Thanks for the input.

It is absolutely possible to live a normal life, do a normal job, take part in sports etc (Sir Steve Redgrave comes to mind, and he's only one!) if you are diabetic, even an insulin-using diabetic!

My DH worked from his diagnosis of Type II diabetes in 1981, to his retirement at the end of 2002.

Diabetics are granted exemption from prescription charges because their condition requires use of e.g. blood glucose monitoring equipment, test strips, injection equipment and it all adds up to a lot of kit, never mind the insulin and tablets. Special food is NOT required.

However, many diabetics fail to monitor and control their BG levels and as you describe, indulge in over-use of sweets and sweet drinks. All I can say is - he'll regret it!

If she's only working part-time she may be the one entitled, as she may not be able to work full-time and may have passed the Disadvantage test.

I hope no one starts a busybody crusade against you when they don't know the facts of a situation.

If the OP is wrong, then this couple have nothing to fear from any official investigation into their circumstances.

And they won't exactly welcome it with open arms either.

DWP have enough problems investigating real fraud without having to go through the motions because someone's made 2+2=5

I would want to be absolutely sure before stepping in, and even then it sounds like you may be causing trouble for the girl who may not deserve it.

If he is the fool you describe the system will catch up with him soon enough, and the longer it takes the more punishment he will get.

    Spot imho.

Plenty of reports get no further than a few background checks that establish that the claim is ok, without the recipient being disturbed.
On the other hand, plenty of people get away with fraud due to no-one reporting them.
