Wednesday 27/5/09 What small DFW things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Good morning lovely DFW's:D:D Hi to all the regular posters:hello::hello::hello: and welcome to any new posters who have hopped on board whilst I have been away:D:DIt is good to be back home from my holiday, although I did miss the sunshine when I looked out of the window this morning and saw grey skies and rain:rolleyes:. Back to work this morning so need to get a wriggle on and get sorted.
Hope you all have a good day, thanks for all the hard work keeping the thread going the past two weeks,:A:A.
Sending hugs to all those feeling poorly or fed up xxx
Desperately need to get back in the DFW frame of mind after the past two weeks so here goes:rolleyes:
Today I will :
Have a great day everyone - hope someone gets some sunshine:D

Morning SM and all who follow :hello: (waves weakly as no energy for a star jump this morning
.
Glad to see you back all sparkly from your hols - hopefully some of it will rub off! Didn't sleep hardly at all last night because I was stressed out because of work
My OH says I am completely bonkers, as I am being made redundant in 8 weeks and already have another job to go to. It is really being piled on for these last few weeks though  I can't help worrying about getting everything done and doing a good job though even at this stage :rotfl:
Anyway, today I will:
Work, work, work (again)
Check online banking (done)
See to plants and animals - can't have anything dying on me!
Finish getting paperwork ready for accountant this evening (that doesn't help either!).
Tidy up a bit for when accountant comes - place looks like a bomb has hit it
Washing on line to dry if it stops raining, otherwise on airer (very elegant for visiting accountant :rotfl:)
Dash off later with multiple copies of thing that I have to get in for work by this afternoon before the deadline - I have no printing facilities at work, and they want 5 hard copies of a large document  Sometimes I think I pay them for the priviledge of working there.
That's about it for me today, I will probably succumb to a takeaway tonight what with the deadline and the accountant, so not even HM meals
Having said that, I don't often (don't like them very much, and no good anyway if you are trying to lose a bit of weight
)
Wish me luck everyone - and have a nice day :hello:0 -
Good morning everyone!
Good to see you back SM,
congratulations on having a new job to go to Dawn and your not bonkers, your just extremely dedicated which is a great asset to have, regardless of being made redundant or not, at the end of the day its not your fault the company is making cuts. Their the ones who will be loosing out not you and your still proving to them that they will loose out!!
Does anyone know if i set up payments from my bank to credit cards directly can they take money out from my account without asking if i am in arrears?
Anyway my DFW are:
Washing on 30 then dry on airer
Write letter to Cap one re late charges
send tax letter off recorded
do lots of work at work
get to the gym at some point - must loose weight and get into clothes i can not fit in! mse as wont need to buy now ones!
Have a wonderful day everyone!0 -

Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Morning All,
Hello Sophiesmum – 2 weeks went so fast!!!
Dawn – I would say that I am a bit like you (when I have had a job). At my last place (where I was really stressed out), I had to accept that I wasn’t going to get everything done, and left so many emails unanswered and other things to do but then I realised, why am I getting stressed out, they have wonderboy starting in 3 days, he can do it.
Please chill and try not to get so stressed.
Chick – sorry, I can not answer you, but someone more knowledgeable will be on here later
Today I have/will:
• Got up early (well, in my new world early is 8am)
• Read through this thread and posted here
• Done TAB scratchy £1
• Meals from stores
• Kept up with my food diary
• Take meds for PCOS (bought a new herbal remedy that should help) – part of 101 plan thingamy
• Off to the cinema with hubby (his treat hopefully) so need to do some snacks for that (grapes, carrot batons etc) and make sure that dinner is ready for us when he gets home from work
• Search for a job
• Update job search grid for date with the job centre tomorrow
• Wash clothes on a quickwash (3x Gym kits) – cant hang outside as it is raining
• Do college work
• Read the rest of yesterday’s posts on here
• If I get time, work on website
• Enter loads of comps online
• Check on veggies – we think that a cat (evil little things) has landed in our gooseberry plant and broken some of the branches (grrr). Counted what we were growing the other night (couldn’t sleep) and we are growing 25 fruits and veggies!!!
• Have a NSD (even avoiding the lottery website)
• Drink more water (aiming on 2.5l per day)
Think that is about it. Hello to all the regulars and new posters
Take care,
Candy xxxDebts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,0000 -
Hello and good morning everyone!
Today, if it is dry, I will take the children to the park - free! We will have lunch at home and entertain ourselves for free.
Infact I could plan for a NSD today!
I have some college work to do later on.
Need to check bank account.
Have a good day :-)
