A "Wireless data link" is often used to refer to GPRS. If that's what you're referring to, (and it probably is - GPRS is what phones use to send "Photo messages" for example) then no wonder you're having problems. That's NOT what GPRS is designed to be used for. Many phones contain several "different phones" inside the same casing - CSD is the network normally used for voice calls, GPRS is usually used for sending data. Each usually has its own aerial Bluetooth has a third, and my own phone (the Nokia E71) also communicates via WiFi. The TomTom device isn't a phone; it's more like a Bluetooth headset: it's a "peripheral". I wouldn't expect to be able to make calls to a friend who doesn't have a phone. I'm surprised that you expect to be able to send data via GPRS to something that's essentially NOT A PHONE.0

Think you are missing the point BigRonW, it is connection to the TomTom Services like Traffic etc.
