i've not heard about the community care grant ending!!

do you have a social worker or are you apart of a carers centre? they can send off refferals to many grant companies, give that a try.

    i wouldn't buy a second hand bed neither! :)

    thanks

If you can't get a dss grant, have a search for charities in your area. You may be able to get a grant off one of those if you meet their criteria :)

  • direct.gov.uk are still giving details of community care grants so i doubt they have been discontinued, might be worth checking with CAB see what they say?

Is it not that their budget runs out so they don't offer grants, but then they start to do so again?

Its the first I have heard of the Community grant ending......

I know there are organisations such as Family Fund, but think that is only in aid of children.

I would defo check on your local council's website to check for any other organisations.

Shame you had to complete that form for nothing.

    Good luck.;)

I think it's as Savvy Sue mentions & that the grant runs out. Grants are generally allocated over the period of a year & if you apply shortly before the year end you'll often find funds are exhausted. It's best then to wait untill the funding for the new financial year is in place before trying again to see if you can be successful.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
