Selling My Contract Phone

Hey

I am on the 'three' network, 18 month contract which started in November 2008.
(Therefore I have been on it nearly 6 months, and have 12 left to run)

I want to sell my phone on eBay as it is quite a good one, and I desperately need a bit of money - obviously can't cancel the contract - I just want to sell the phone and keep the sim.

If I were to list my phone on eBay what do I need to be careful of?
Obviously it should be locked to the 'three' network and should make this clear in the listing, and obviously I would be keeping my sim card.

Are there any potential problems I should be aware of?

My biggest concern is selling the phone and not been able to find a cheap phone which will enable me to put my "contract sim" inside so I can carry it on.

Does anyone know a really cheap phone I can buy that is compatible with 'three' sim cards (my contract).

Many thanks in advance :money:

    Hi there ,

Sadly I can't recommend any phones that work on 3 and are cheap becuase I can't find any. But please note , for a 3 sim to work the phone needs to be 3G. so if you buy an unlocked phone off ebay it must be 3G to work.

Also , When selling on ebay make it clear that it is UK bidders only. Ebay has a reputation for 'Nigerian scammers' , where they bid high , ask you to send it to another country and then claim they never received it , etc etc.

Also , Make sure you send it special recorded signed delivery to confirm that the buyer has got it and signed for , Make sure you get the post that covers you up to the value of the phone (Insurance) , I beleive pay an extra pound and it will cover for any "loss" of the parcel etc.

One last thing you could try is maybe pawning it using cash converters then buy it back off them ??? This is really for people who need the money urgently but want and can afford the phone back.

Sorry , I could not be any more useful
