aria.co.uk are not out of stock on these! The price seems to have been reduced to 117 also.

The next price up is 129 which is good value also. I think I'll be getting another TFT screen for the missus, but don't tell her!

It was 117 including VAT.  I'll double check but I've already ordered the HP/Compaq version at 129 something including VAT.  7.49 for delivering is still a bargain.

Not the official Aria website ?? as aria never mention it as Digimate.

Here there is 2 in stock https://www.aria.co.uk/specials.asp

They always add more to the Specials stock from the main stock, so just wait a while.

Ordered 17" LCD monitor from Aria on Wednesday afternoon and it arrived lunchtime Friday .
Brand name is Digimate. Looks alot better than the picture on the web page.

£148 including 2 packs of AAA batteries and P+P to N. Ireland.

Very happy with it. Much better than the "vizitron" I got from Argos last year.

  • ??? This thread has really confused me!

This morning I was decided on a TFT from Aria then I spoke to my brother who had an awful experience with them last year and turned the air blue when retelling it!

    He then recommended Microdirect ::)

At this rate I'll end up going to Pc World simply because I can take it back and rant if there's anything wrong with it!

I would avoid Microdirect like the plague !!

    They have very bad reviews.

    Aria are much better.

I found this with their web site. You have to be carful. They seem to have the identical products at differing prices. If you get the one from their specials board but not through that page it comes up as £199 inc vat! And yes they do have DIGIMATE TFT's with identical pics to the Aria ones. £1 difference in price. Got to look at the specs carfully. The contrast ratio is different ins ome, as is the speed!

    Scary stuff! :|
Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:

  • Which were you thinking of buying? 500:1 is better. The higher the number the better. I was going to go for the specials section 17 inch one at aria but noticed for an extra 30 quid I could get a 12ms one with 500:1 contrast ration and 3-year on site warrenty. Tempted by that! :)

Errmm at the mo its a toss up between Sony 17" 500:1 etc but no DVI or a Iiyama E431 which is 450:1 and has DVI or this one on deal.
I am quoting this from PCEXTREME "Almost all the important components including the LCD panel are made by 5 manufacters"
"Given this you may presume that all LCD moniters are equal but htis isnt true. The LCD panel maufacters test the panels and grade them accordingly and sell them on to monitor manufacters. This means that a cheap monitor is likely to have athird-rate panel inside it"
I know when u opened it it was the same as Viewsonic but its prob a B/C grade panel. How else would these retail for so cheap?

    Quite simple, I think....brand labels ;D

Stick a Sony label on it and add £200 to the price, who would know ?

People get obsessed with brand labels and pay over the odds.

The same thing with clothes.......buy a t-shirt in matalan for £3 ..........the same one in Next will cost you £30
