Yeah i do the same haha then if i do get shortchanged it's normally only a few quid as normally i only have 5er's or coin's left.0 -

Yeah i totally agree she must have been to land z becasue to mistake a 10 pound note for a pound i have never heard of that before.0 -
when i worked in the cafe of a big department store, our company policy was to assume the customer is correct and hand over the money in question asap . it was never more than a few £ and the orders came straight from management- didn't happen that often and we did point out the potential for exploiting this tactic. never mistaken a note for a coin though, even on our roughest saturday mornings after the night before!when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it0

Ok update and all is good i got my call back to say that my money was ready to be picked up at the customer service's desk just popped over to get it and got my £9.
Only quibble i have is that i did not get an apology over the phone or in store when i picked it up but hey u can't have everything can you.
Thankfully the lady that served me didn't make any more mistake's or i would have had some fun getting my money back.
Still disagree that it should have been left to the next day they should have done it there and then to make sure the till did not go wrong again.
But all is well and thank's for all the comment's will take these on board when buying stuff in the future.
For a change a story i have wrote ended well.
