Keep it connected. One of us will do it remotely for you
be careful changing the settings on the router remotely as it will kick all wifi clients off including the remote session. better to cable in a LAN cable from a pc to router then do a remote. setup security and clients and then remove the cable.

Hi Stuart
Can you please give me some advice on the above topics.
My Netgear router allows scheduling of service blocking by only one time period per day, so presumably a start blocking time of 1800, and end blocking of 0900 allows access between 9 am and 6 pm each day. Do you know of any way of scheduling more than one block period per day, for example to allow access for several periods per day, say from 0900-1000, 1300-1400, and 1700-1800?
Regarding UPnP (universal plug and play), is it safer to disable UPnP, and are there devices that need UPnP in order to work?
Thanks.0 -
No Wireless network is 100% secure, I know of software that intercepts data packets on wireless networks and reconstructs your WEP/WPA key within 24 hours. Couple that with MAC address masking and well.....
It's really rare that anyone would do this, but just be really, really careful what your sharing on your PC.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The people who have the ability to do with this are generally interested in bigger targets than your holiday snaps and 2meg ADSL connection.
The ones that can't do this, well for them all they need to do is move on to someone else's less secure wireless network instead.0
