    Let me add my thanks to that as well, I don't think I'd ever grasped that point. (Possibly because it seems totally illogical!)
    So single parent works 16 hours gets wtc
    Couple with children works 16 hours get wtc
    Single person over 25 has to work 30 hours to get wtc
    Single person under 25 doesn't qualify

    Amazing isn't it? We're paying couples with children to have only one person work part time! It's a mad world, isn't it?

    So does he claim IB in addition to DLA or will he do so when you get a job?

    Yeah he claims DLA (lower rate) & long term incapacity benefit

    Anything you earn won't affect his DLA and IB although it will affect IS and HB. Hopefully someone more knowedgeable than me can answer you in more detail.
