If you visit www.spam.la then you will be able to check mail for any address you want. So you can put in your amazon order:

mytempaccountdavejones11@spam.la

The website will then let you check the "mailbox" or any emails coming into "mytempaccountdavejones11@spam.la". It's not secure unless yso don't use card & personal details and such should be avoided using this.

Alternativley, as someone suggested, just create a Hotmail or Googlemail account called "daveshopping@gmail.com" and use that particular account for all your online purchasing, etc.

This should stop your "normal" account getting flooded with any BS advirtisments and such.
• I have found that disposable or temporary emails are preferable in certain circumstances - e.g. for one-off signups as long as you don't give any personal details. Nothing worse than signing up for a free offer only to find the price was an ever increasing mountain of spam.

I have found guerrillamail to work fine although I am not sure I like the latest emails received being displayed on their home page. More recently I have used mytemporarymail with no problems.

To be fair there are plenty of similar websites offering the service just a question of finding one you either like or trust.

• Many ISPs offer unlimited email addresses in the form anything@username.myisp.foo

So you can sign up to things with amazon@username.myisp.foo, tesco@username.myisp.foo, etc

Then you can tell who's passing/selling on your address. Either on your ISPs mail control panel or in your email software you can delete all mail coming in to a particular 'anything@' when it gets spammy.

and you can undo this deletion if it turns out you need to resubscribe to something or ask for a password reminded to be sent to the email address you used.
