I don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but here goes! I'm starting to be bombarded by emails which hope to improve various parts of my bodily functioning. This could have come from a variety of sources of course, but its getting a little tiresome.
I was thinking of using temporary email addresses in future when using the net and buying from websites etc. I'd like to have an email address that will forward, but which is essentially disposable to stop my 'home' email being passed on to spammers. Doing a basic search brings up alot of sites offering this, but are they legit?
Does any one use one of these sites? Or can anyone recommend?
Thanks.

I'd stick with either hotmail or gmail.
Have a read of this:

Spam Gourmet is a good one that I use. You can create disposable email addresses on the fly. All emails are forwarded to your normal account until a certain number of emails have been received, at which point no more are passed on to you - Spam Gourmet gobbles them up!

Thanks very much for that. I'll check it out.
I was wondering about trying mailinator. I don't know if anyone has experience with that or not."I am not young enough to know everything." Oscar Wilde0 -
another vote for Spam Gourmet. Also on your account that you say is being spammed you could use Mailwasher. That bounces the spammers mail right back to them0

firefox browser with the trashmail addon....
each time you sign up to some rubbish, you create (with 1 click) a new email address which will forward up to 10 items for 14 days, then disappear!Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -

you set up a free account with them..so all your 'disposable' addresses get forwarded to your real account..and the disposable addresses have a life of no more than 2 weeks and 10 messages...whichever comes 1stUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -

If you want a long email address, you can get "the longest ones in the world" here:
http://www.abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijk.com/
It might confuse some spambots if you post it on a web page, but I can imagine that you'd run out of space on a lot of web-based forms!0
