I have Virgin Cable TV in my living room at the moment, but would also like to use a TV in another room. There's no aerial point in the room, but I have an old freeview box lying around (tried plugging an indoor aerial into it but no joy).
What is my best bet? Get an aerial point installed? Run a cable from the living room to the other TV? Boosters? Would like to do things cheaply if possible
Reasonably tech-savvy but don't know a great deal about TVs to be honest.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Cheapest way would be to buy some coax cable and a signal booster then just run to other room via booster but bear in mind whatever is on the main tv will be on the other one ,you might be able to pick up a few terrestrial channels seperately though
Total cost should be no more than 20 quid ,dont scrimp on the quality of the cable and buy the normal brown cheap coax ,invest in some RG6 cable (normally black) Ebay or Maplins ,these take the F type connectors ,you will need 1 std F type (out from Virgin box) and 3 F type to coax ,1 for connecting into the booster and 2 for tv to tv standard coax
sorry unable to post any links yet but just type in google F type connectors ,again Maplins stock them ,in fact B&Q do as well ,approx 50p to a quid in price
oh nearly forgot ..you havent got V+ have you ? ,if so its a different ball game and not as cheapHave a nice day0 -

Yes it does ,the RF output (coax cable socket) on a V+ box is disabled if its connected via HDMI so you have to go down a different route ,and more expensiveHave a nice day0

But if you do have a V plus box any additional boxes are only £5 per mth.0

what about hooking up an indoor aerial to the freeview box with a signal booster, might that do the trick or can freeview only be hooked up to an external aerial?
Thanks for your replies Charlie and Lincoln Imp.0
