Key For Disabled Toilets Anywhere!!

Hi all,

I've done a search for this but didn't come up with anything.

You can get a key from the reception at The Ridings Centre, Wakefield. It will cost you £2.50 and you have to show your blue car parking badge to get one, but the great thing is that it will unlock ANY disabled toilet ANYWHERE .. so we're talking any shopping centre, the airports etc ...

I got one on Saturday. You don't need to fill in any forms .. just take your blue car parking badge and hand over £2.50!

I don't know if you can get them at all big shopping centres, but you can definitely get them at The Ridings, Wakefield reception desk and they ARE for keeps; you don't hand them back after your visit.

Easy peasy ... !!

Here is a link to the RADAR site For those of us not near wakefield. I've had one for ages now, an absolute godsend in Waterloo station...

and remember, you don't need a blue badge, incontinence is a disability as well!

(edited because people were obviously not recognising that there was a link in the post to RADAR who operate this system!)

Ah right, I was just told it was blue badge holders! It was a chap I know who was asked to show his badge in order to get one, so he might have got it mixed up!

I can imagine how helpful it is going to be to a lot of people ... especially those who won't go out to a place like that incase they end up in a ginormous queue and cannot wait health-wise ..

Wish the info on getting them was more "out there" for folks though!

    Thanks for adding that!!

They are called RADAR keys and are usually available through Council offices.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I got mine through the RADAR website for £3.50. You can also do the tax exempt thing on there too :)
