Three are giving away £180 Comet voucher with upgrades

Remember that Three get a different profit from each customer, depending on your historic usage patterns. Suppose two people are on the exact same deal with 750 minutes and 150 texts, both paying £10 per month. If one of them uses up all the minutes every month on cross-network, then that costs a bomb for Three (who have to pay Vodafone or Orange for the x-network minutes). Whereas if the second user makes most calls within the Three network, and also receives lots of calls from outside the network (which Three get paid for by the other network), then they are a very profitable customer to Three. So come renewal time, the first one will effectively be told good riddance if they threaten to cancel, whereas the second one will be given a £180 voucher etc etc.0

Optique, thanks for explaining that so well as it really is that which dictates the deal you get. For instance I get 500 minutes, no texts but free email and internet for £15. That's a great deal to me. I hammer the email and internet for self employed work; hence I know I'm not a good deal for them and though I've been with them for five years, I still needed to contribute £20 for the e71 a while ago though it was the natural upgrade for the e61 and I was out of contract. Knowing a vague amount about how much you cost the network will give you a better idea about how hard you need to bargain.0

HA, HA!! I get it for £5 :j
£2.50 on top of that for data usage though...
I've spoken to 3 about this when they try and sell me an upgrade - they just laugh when I tell them what I get for a fiver
Me too, well almost. I have got two contracts at £5 each a month (well £4.90ish now) and get 300 minutes, 150 texts, 25 video minutes, 25 multimedias and £5 free downloads. Have had this for 2 years running now.
1st time of £5 month was 12 month contract and this 2nd time was 18 month contract (12 months into it now). Have been looking on here to find out what people are being offered. Both contracts i have had for about 6 years now, if not longer. The plan is VTT500 and was originally £25 a month but we get £20 loyalty discount each month leaving the £5 to pay.
When my friend tried haggling at her upgrade time and tried to get this, they told her there wasnt such a deal for £5 a month!!!0 -
I have just come to the end of my 1st 18-month contract with 3.
I rang 333 and went through to the upgrade/cancellation inquiry option - i was just asking the date that my contract expired and...
I was offered a new sony c902 phone, a £150 comet voucher (+ additional £50 (£200 total) if i took the insurance option @6.99 p/m - which i did as i will cancel it after 1 month).
Im on the 900 mix & match (18-month) contract with 300 free 3 to 3 minutes, and upto 1gb data per month for £28 p/m (without insurance)
Not a bad deal i dont think...0 -
does anyone know how long it takes for the free comet vouchers to be delivered?0

Rang Three a while a go to cancel my contract, they offered me some rubbish deal so I said I still wanted to cancel. Day later they rang me back and offered me a C902 (Which I sold on ebay for £147), £200 comet vouchers and my mix match 1100 tariff, for just under £12 per month (think it works out as £12 per month once the VAT goes back up) for another 18 month contract. So a total contract cost of £216, after fees and delivery I got about £130 for the phone, so for £86 I got £200 of comet vouchers (when they turn up!) and another 18 month of 1100 mix and match! If I cant find anything i like in comet Im sure I could sell them and get £180 or so - meaning I'll make about £100 profit.0

I just got my £200 comet vouchers from THREE
I didn't go through the usual upgrade route, I went straight to cancellations. I had found a good phone on Orange, that was offering me a free nintendo wii on there deal and was cheaper a month compared to what I was paying a month with THREE.
anyway upgraded phone to a samsung s7330 ( pretty basic phone) and got £200 comet vouchers. I'l keep using my original nokia phone cos its better then the samsung. And I'l sell the new samsung phone.
So all in all I got a gd deal I think:j Things can only get Better :j0
