Hi there
I have been with T Mobile for years and my bill works out at usually around £60 a month which is too high for my budget.

I managed to negotiate a plan for around £13 a month but it only includes 300 mins and 300 texts. I always go over this. This month my bill was a whopping £85 and half of these extra costs are from calling telephone banking services ie setting up an account with A&L. I do not have a landline so the sight of my bill brought tears to my eyes lol.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I really do need to cut my bills down ideally around £30 a month max.

Most businesses will use 0845/0870 prefixes which command a premium fee to call. You can either check https://www.saynoto0870.com to find an alternative landline number that can be used against your free minutes or signup to something like https://www.18185.co.uk which gives you cheaper calls to premium rate number that can be accessed through an 01/02 number at much lower rates.

But seeing as you're paying upwards of £60+ a month, it may be worth paying the £11.50 line rental to get a landline put in...it'll work out a lot cheaper than using just your mobile. Or pickup 3 handset and use their skype service to make landline calls, I think skype out calls are slightly cheaper than direct with the mobile providers.

If you're looking for cheap tariffs, then look at the T-Mobile Solo plans or the O2 simplicity, both gives fairly high minutes and text, with T-Mobile giving unlimited text. 3 network do 300 minute and unlimited text with free skype.

Those are just a few suggestions you could try to help bring down your monthly bill. Good luck.

I'd also agree with the recommendation of 18185. They provide an 01 geographic number that comes out of your minutes then you just pay the basic rate for calls 0845 0870 etc, usually about 5p / 10p min in the daytime. much cheaper than dialling direct.

You don't say how many minutes you use calling mobile / landlines, or how many texts you send, are you looking for a new phone or just a cheap sim online deal? It's very difficult to recommend a tarriff without this info.

SKYPE OUT (on 3) can only be used for international calls AND not UK :-(

I just committed to a new 18 month contract on T-Mobile making use of one of their 'boosters' which I don't think are as heavily publicised as 'bolt ons' from O2 or the other providers.
    My plan was as follows:
    £15 - Combi 15 (100 minutes to mobiles anytime, 100 texts)
£5 - Web N Walk (Free Internet usage)
£7.50 - Unlimited landline calling booster (Unlimited free calls to landlines at anytime)

The total of the above is £27.50, for me it totalled £18.50 as I had a £9 loyalty discount.
Also, the £7.50 booster is a month by month thing, so if you don't need it for a month or want to change to a different booster you can (.e.g. unlimited texts/calls to T-Mobile or off peak calls to other mobiles).
With any luck my monthly bills will be only £18.50 (no call charges) as I mainly call landlines, no more than 100 minutes to other mobiles and no more than 100 texts in a month. I've amended all my phone book entries to use 0800 Buster for all freephone numbers, found geographic numbers instead of 0845/0870 ones through Saynoto0870.com and also have a voipclient to use the internet connection to make cheap international calls if required out of my home VOIP credit.
I've also noticed they do a rewards thing now where you can get free services etc for a month for 3 months spend over £10 (I can't find anything to say it can't be just the line rental?)
No doubt there are other plans out there, especially with cashback etc that work out better value for money but if you choose to stick with T-Mobile that might be of interest...
  • Just left T-mobile my self, signed up with orange through phones4u. the internet deal is orange dolphin 30 which is 600 min and unlimited texts with a £10 a month rebate so all that for £20 p/m!
I got mine through the high street store, which is a seperate buisness, so wouldnt match the deal, but got cash back and the same package for £25 p/m with an early upgrade after 12 months instead of 18. the cash back brought it to £20 p/m for the 1st 6 months.

    hope this helps.
