I said that Hot Hatches then got the stereotype of being chavvy, I never said that is when they started being called Hot Hatches.
personally a chavvy car is something that used to be a bog standard but now looks like it ram raided halfords with lots of ripspeed stickers and wheels that clearly dont fit the car and a poorly fitted spolier,thats chavvy (i cant beleive im using the term chavvy,im scottish,we use the term "ned" to describe a chav)
i think the focus cc your looking at looks a bit fuddy duddy to be honest,it doesnt look very nice at all,a bit blad,but thats your taste and your choice. i personally would prefer the RS,again my choice (but sadly cant afford one just now)...work permit granted!0 -
I was just going to say the best sign of a chav are stickers for makes that haven't even been near the car never mind installed in it. :rotfl:
Ned is far too endearing for some of them I think. We don't really have the cars you describe though, we have an offshoot, the middle class chav. Mummy and Daddy buy the car and sonny jim buys a bore exhaust and £300 stereo and they're off.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

I don't think thats a chav you are describing there.
Chavs are usually part of the won't work benefits culture & how many of them can buy their off spring a 25k hot hatch?
I'm NOT a chav & we both work, but we couldn't afford to buy DD her car.0 -

Most of the Focus RS I see are on the owners' club stand at Ford Fair and the like, all lined up and looking identical. I often wonder how the owners know which one is their's! :rotfl:
I'm not a huge Focus fan (do like the orange STs) but I agree, these will be classics in 25 years' time. Wonder how many will be left by that point?0 -

I drove a Mexico and an RS2000 - obviously a long while ago! And you can find them for sale now - but I couldn't afford one! Oh those were the days, the word 'chav' hadn't been invented then..............
I kinda like the look of the new Skyline - nice lines. Goes well too I believe....
I also like the old Celica GT4's and the import MR2's - turbo. I tend to go for shape first...Genie

That's not class - that's tacky.
Talking of tacky - isn't it dreadful that Ford's gave out 'faulty' vent holeless vehicles out to the press? You would think that they would have more sense than to court bad press in this economic climate.
Life never ceases to amaze me....Genie

How can anyone who knows anything about cars think that this focus has fake bonnet vents.
Are you all on drugs?:rotfl::rotfl:
It'll only go upsetting journalists and potential EVO buyers who think the car is inadequate.......... :rotfl:Genie
