I'm sure you'd look divine :D, but you're right i should just get out there and do it .

I've placed a paper order with La Redoute but opted to pay 'later' as advised by NID. Hopefully, this'll trick them into opening a credit account . Just realised i forgot to post the envelope this morning...grrrrr...have to go back out now

Have you heard back yet? I have a £250 limit after doing this so worth a go lol - you never know!

A week ago I put an order through online for a toaster, quite a nice toaster, I got a standard email saying, accepting the order didn't mean I'd been accepted for an account. Not heard a word since, either to say get lost or welcome!
They have searched Experian almost a week ago, I sent them an email last Friday, but no reply. Sorry I wasted a search on them to be honest, customer service seems bobbins:confused:

Anyone else had this experience with them?

Hi, I've just opened a JD williams account, got told I have a £125 credit limit.

Brillaint, so I go get the Garden Bench I'm after, and entered my debit card details ( only so there on the system not to complete sale ) and now I cant find any part that says, you have X amount of credit, or repayments will be X amount pw for X weeks.

Can anyone advise please ? as I dont want to submit the order and them try and take the lot of me card.

I initially started with just an £80 limit, I went on their site to buy using my debit card, when it asked me my previous address I sort knew, oh it looks like it wants to see if I can have a personal account:o Anyway, my limit now is £2000:eek:

    LOL - you're sum-fink else you are! ;)

I've heard nothing back from then yet. I'll give 'em until early next week and see what happens. I'll be picking your brains for further advice if there's been no progress by then :D. Hope that's ok :p.

Mind you, i've since opened a GU account, so if i don't get La Redoute, i won't be too bothered

    Love that word 'bobbins' :rotfl:.

Bosie, did you call them at all? I know you received an email, but someone should be able to tell you one way or another . Did the email include an account number?

Evening BB, bit of an update, got an alert from experian to say a change to my file! Just checked and Studio have opened me an account, it's registered on Experian with a £250 limit.
With a balance of £31 owing ( the toaster I ordered) think they are doing it by component!! BB I didn't ring them cos they use an 0871 number, which are quite dear. How are you with the catalogues

PS. The email didn't mention any account number, just a receipt to say they had the order, at least I have confirmed, by Experian it has been opened. They do seem slow though at sending things out. x

    :T - Waaaaay Coooool .

At least that is sorted out for you. If you do want to call them, you can check for alternative numbers on saynoto0870.com.

I've not called it myself, but there are a few telephone numbers listed on that site. 01254 302222 is given as a number for Studio's Careline dept. Studio are very generous with their increases :T, and their customer service is good imo.

GU denied me an account initially, but i got them to change that and they've sinced opened an account with £100 credit. It's a start :D.

La Redoute will only offer a cash account, but i'm trying to get that changed too. Wish me luck :rotfl:.

In my experience, Studio are pretty quick with their deliveries, so you'll be enjoying some lovely crisp and crunchy toast before you know it :D :T

Oh La Redoute, they declined me too, got a cash account but don't use it now. I went bankrupt over 5 years ago, so surprised I got this Studio account, plus Marisota and a Vodafone contract.
I wonder if they only check the last 3 years of your history?
best wishes BB (love the name) x

I got a book from Freeman's and the £300 you mentioned, but it isn't a true offer of an account, in small print it says it is subject to status and all that stuff! I bought weighing scales from them and got a 25% discount, they were so fast at delivery too.
I just use my card to buy from them at the moment.
