"Signal none" ITV and C4 in SW Wales

Most of today we have had the message "signal none" just on the ITV and C4 channels (BBC working okay). We now have a slightly pixalated picture, which is an improvement on earlier. If we retune we lose the ITV channels altogether.
First time this has happened since we've had our new digital TV in sitting room but used to happen during hot weather with our old digital box. We have had a new aerial to try to cure the problem. How can I find out if it's the transmitter.
