I have one of these - bought it about 4 years ago at about 10" tall, and it is now about 2' each way - and I have just noticed that it's fruiting for the first time.
Now, I'm assuming they'll be ornamental as it is an ornamental plant, and they are also tiny, but I wondered if they would be a worthwhile growing experiment for the kids to gather and plant some - or would they just not grow quickly enough to hold a 6 and 8 year olds interest?
Has anyone any experience of this sort of thing - am I totally barking up the wrong tree?

Assuming the fruit are pretty similar to an ordinary cherry... you'll be waiting a good while for the stones to germinate
How about ordinary fruit seeds? Kiwi or melon would be dead quick. Citrus for a plant that grows slower, but might be a bit tougherMy TV is broken!

I planted some cherry stones last year around July time i think and forgot about them. They didnt do anything and then this year, I found the pots, full of soil with very small cherry trees in them.... I got two and they are now about 8inch high.0
