BT Broadband Option 1

Hi

I am currently on BT BB Opt 1 and have been for many months. My question is, option 1 on the BT website states that you get a Homehub included in the package. Having been on this option before BT offered this, am i eligible for one since im on the package?

Thanks
Peter

    No.

If you do ask for one, they will re-contract you again for the minimum period.

Why do you want a HomeHub anyway?

I'm thinking of changing my ISP.
How is a hub, different from a router?

    Thank you

It has an internet phone attached to it. The reason they call it a hub is because its the internet router and telephone all in one. However, I've had one for 18 mths and never, ever used it. Always use my landline.

The hub PHONE is extra - it doesn't come with the hub (and isn't worth the money!!)

If the OP wants a hub or a hub and phone, the best place is eBay, unless he wants to re-contract for 18(?) months.

We use our hub phone for all evening and weekend calls - all UK weekend/evening calls starting 01/02 are free and international calls are very cheap - we call Canada several times a week and it only costs 1.22p per minute at any time of the day.

You don't need a hub phone however - any normal phone can be plugged in to the Hub and used to make calls - all calls will go via broadband unless you dial 5 first.
