Glad you got the full 6 months DT.... when does the pay cut kick in then? Now or in the next pay?

Now because I should have had the amount I got now, now and then half that amount at the end of Jan so I have basically lost Jan's money and have to make this stretch until the end of April. Then the same will happen in April and I will get nothing at the end of July. 2 paydays a year

Yep
But at least we still have an income and thank God we have massively reduced our outgoings or else we would be in deep poo and if we ever get it back we shall be slashing those debts like no tomorrow

Glad that you got paid and at least you know where you stand now moneywise.
Good luck with the budgetting..I imagine it will be hard work doing 6 months worth of budgets!!!0 -
Could you put the six months money in another account, setting up a monthly standing order to your usual current account? That way you don't just move money when you think you need it (thereby running out in a few weeks time), you have a "payday" like everyone else? Might help with the budgetingSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Have already planned on sending 3 months living money to a savings account that is difficult to get to and I do in effect do what you suggest with the rest but sometimes unexpected expense such as bailing out my OD and her partner play havoc with the figures
I do have a monthly budget but actually I should get all my receipts out and do something more sophisticated setting an amount and trying to stick to it is not really the way to go:o I need to see where the money actually goes and budget for the one offs as well - something I have not done in the past but I know I need to get it sorted or else I am never going to have a correct buget - I think I am a bit scared to look at where the money goes in truth - we have cut back by an enormous amount but I would like it to be more - OK a job for later me thinks.
Won £5 on Britain this morning so that's £5 profit happy with that so far.

I think that now would be the perfect time for you to move up to the next level of debtbusting - honesty.......
Time to start a spending diary - even if only for a couple of weeks.......be honest about the things you cover, bailing out DD etc, and ask yourself what you can really afford to do. You HAVE to know where the money is going otherwise all your efforts will be fruitless as you see yourself bringing in the money, but can't see why you are still short at the end of the week/month/year etc.
You also have to be fairly brutal in the future bailing out of DD and her OH - yes I know she is pregnant and it is not ideal, but if you have her and OH and baby living with you, you cannot afford to maintain them constantly - lay down the rules now, let them start planning things properly, and don't let things drift so that you are expected to do things because you have not said or done otherwise.
It is not always going to give you the answers you want, but it will give you the answers you need.....
