  • Those pots are lovely DT. Well done, we will all now shamelessly nick the idea now.

wow, all your pressies look great! :j

would you be willing to share OH's new verse? you know i toyed with the idea of pots of gold, but opted for something else this year (m&s bargains) - but i think one thing that was stopping me was that i wasn't so keen on the original verse, either! :p

how do you know so many people that you have made 33 pots, though? i think about 10 would have done me! :o
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !

DT, they're lovely! I think people will be touched by the amount of thought thats obviously gone into them too, as well as the presentation and the individuality. Wow........

I think the pots were 72p might have been 82p from IKEA I have lost the receipt - sweets less than a £1 a pot gold coins on BOGOF from tescos Eclairs 31p a packet from Asda Ferrero Rocher 2 for £5 in Asda and £3.50 but for a bigger size in Tesco plus whatever scratchcards you want to put in there is a scratchcard called pot of gold at the moment which is £2 and then I added £2 coins to the teenage ones the others ones I put 2 scratchcards in but no real money as they are only part of a present.

    The verse is
All that glitters is not gold
Often have we heard that told
Take no heed of Shakespeare old
Herein lies your pot of gold

A partial misquote from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice

A big family plus teenage children of my college friends everyone is having pots of gold this year as either their main present with £2 coins in or as part of their present just with scratchcards

    In my defence

    1. I was pregnant with my youngest twins
    2. I was very sick
    3. Before I had a chance to do my Christmas shopping we had a foster placement made of a brother and sister aged 6 months and 18months and the oldest girl had cerebral palsy so lots of physio to do and appointments to attend
    4. We always open our presents in the afternoon except for the kids presents from Father Christmas
    5. OH Mom and the older twins had gone to church so the house was empty

Be gentle with me Judge Karma :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
