The point of searching for work is to find a job.

    Are you for real?
    Gone ... or have I?

    yes i am for real...

i suppose you support the MP's claim for non existent mortgages...

when someone is unemployed and the law states they are entitled

to so much money then they should get it pronto....

    ---

you never know in 13 weeks they could be paying my mortgage

    haha

    Hi there

To what I can remember when my hubby first signed on, it had taken a few weeks before this was paid out, as soon as they start to pay out then this should be regularly paid every fortnight.;)

I understand that they have so many to deal with now at this current time of recession and job losses, my hubby was one of those before christmas unfortunately, due to cut backs etc.

Yet the year before he was unlucky again, he was a steel worker for many years and this was days before xmas, the company went into administration, so no money or anything paid to any of them from the company as everything had to be claimed through insolvency which was paid out in dribs and drabs over the months, 400 workers this happened to, and because of the timing of this the job centre could not deal with this instantly where it had then taken about 5-6 weeks before we were paid anything.

We also have 2 children and I am a full time carer for one of them who has autism.

However, it was difficult but we got by......

Once the first payment was paid out by JSA then from then on, it was regularly at every fortnight.

    Good luck.;)

Me and my OH have waited around the same time as you and we've since been on the phone, i was dealt with promptly and they actually even apologised, AND they made sure i was paid that very same day into my bank at 4pm.

However OH was told basically tough he'd have to wait as there was a waiting time. (Strange how they agreed my same waiting time was unacceptable?).

Anyway i told OH not to let them hang up til they had some news for us (as he'll just say 'okay thanks bye' without contest :D) and he got paid the same day into his bank miraculously.

So yes they can sort it, unless there's some other complication which means your claim is taking longer to be dealt with.

Also just wanted to say that i know it is NO fun waiting so long to be paid when your bills come flooding in and you're having to pay a fortune out to ring them.

My phone bill has £9 worth of calls to the JC alone this month :(.

go to your local job centre and use their phones - the 0845 number is arip off as they keep you on hold for ages

or try and get a geographicl number from say no to 0870

I know you can do this but my jobcentre is a car r bus journey away so i'd only have to pay fares or parking anyway so would defeat the object :D

Tried this, there's no such numbers on there. I have asked while on the phone to them a few times to see if anyone would give me one but everyone says no.

I hope the person processing your payment sees this post and accidentally terminates your claim.

Freedom of speech is one thing.

But some of the regulars here are employed by DWP. And they still come here to help folks out "after hours". Have a look at the thanks some of them have received over the years, it's no exaggeration to say that they've helped hundreds if not thousands of MSE'ers receive the benefits to which they're entitled.

Muppets ? Don't think so matey.
