Sky Broadband - Any Good

Options
Woundering If Anyone else on here has "Sky Broadband - Mid". 8MB Download Speed & 40Gb Allowance.

We are currently with Tiscali Paying £25 a month for 8MB Broadband & Tiscali Talk.

But looking around for some good deals for broadband & phone.
Looked at BT & Virgin but they are too expensive.

When i looked at sky they are doing this deal:
> Sky+ With Variety Pack - £16.50
> 8MB Broadband - £5.00
> Sky Talk Freetime - Free
> Sky Talk Line Rental - £10.00
Total = £31.50 a Month
Plus £30.00 Once Of Installation Fee
But If your with Tiscali you get £50 cashback. So £20 Up.

Back To The Point. Want to know if Sky Broadband Is Any Good.

Agree with Forris, have been with Sky for donkeys years, Skytalk and Broadband for the last 2 and only once had a major breakdown of Broadband wich was my fault, Sky talked my through the problem on the phone and it was solved in less than 10 minutes. and the call was free because i had Skytalk.
    Would highly recommend it.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Another Vote for Sky broadband, Been with them for 2 or so years and it has been faultless. I'm on the Mid package and I get very good reliable speeds from it.

I have a couple of work colleagues with it. One of them's suffering from random dropouts. The sky support blamed it on the company IMAP settings (he forgot to mention his internet was also down... duh)

I believe they also have a really screwed up POP3 system... or one that doesn't exist... or something? I had to trawl the net to find the specific setting that would allow our other sky user to use his work account from home.

Maybe it's just my experience, but when either of those sky users ring me for tech support, I just want to tell them we only support decent ISPs!
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I'm on the unlimited one (whatever it's called), and I find it surprisingly reliable.

I would go with the unlimited one but my line only supports 6mb so paying for 16mb seems abit of a waste, is there a way to get unlimited broadband but for 8mb?

Just found out on Sky's Website that i can only get there SKY Connect package (broadband & talk) tv isn't a problem. But they want £17 compared to the Mid pack on there website for £5. Just because i live like about 200 yards from where they say im outside there local area LOL
