Item sold 6 days ago - no payment.

I'm looking for some advice please. I sold an item on ebay 6 days ago. This was a normal auction and buyer has a 500+ 100% positive feedback rating. He hasn't paid as yet.

The item went very cheaply so I'm happy he didn't pay. I'd be delighted if he never paid, quite frankly. I certainly won't complain.

My question - at what stage can I re-advertise the goods on the basis that the buyer did not conclude the transaction?

You need to wait for 7 days before you can report an item as 'unpaid for'.

But that might spur him on to pay. If you just keep quiet he hopefully will forget.

    Thank you both.

I think colony might just have understood my question better. Is there any time period after which its safe to re-list the goods? Can the "buyer" still report me as a non performing seller or neg me up to the time limit for feedback?

Strictly speaking, if the sale hasn't been concuded with a payment or dispute, they could pay at any time.

I thnk if you leave it technically they could stil pay days down the line and give you nps report. If you start a NPB dispute as you said they could still pay. But at least if they dont you know you can relist with no poblems

You have to wait till any NPB dispute is closed before relisting.

They might be on holiday, have lost their internet, or other valid reasons, and so return to pay at any time.
If you've re-listed the item then you're leaving yourself open to a negative.

If you can wait that long then the feedback window (ie how long they have got to leave feedback) closes after 60 days...
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

could you just email him and ask him if he still wants to buy it? Give hime the option of withdrawing without bad feeling if he's changed his mind or can no longer afford to pay?

It's frustrating, I've also had a similar situation. These are the steps I took.

A week after they won my auction i still hadn't received payment. I could see that they had been on ebay during the previous 7 days. So sent winner an email giving them an ultimation (either pay or withdraw from purchase) and gave them a 3 or 4 day deadline to let me know.

Day after the deadline - still nothing, no email, no payment.

So I followed the steps of reporting the item as unpaid as I assumed this is the only way I could reclaim the Final Valuation Fees from paypal.

Then to my surprise 2 days later payment received.
