No payment in 9 months ?

Hi guys , my girlfriend has an Active direct debit for her water bill but the last time they took money out was 9 months ago ( £28 ) is this something to be worried about ? thought id ask here first before phoning them and getting an unwanted large bill lol
If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anyway

Bear in mind that when they do catch up, they can go back 6 years. At some time she will have to pay it back.

My worry would be that the water company, despite them making a mistake, will have your girlfriend listed as in debt and pass the debt to a Dept Collection Agency.(DCA) Once that happens it is non-stop hassle to get them off her back and there is always the possibility of it affecting her credit rating.
