Found this on the codes thread
1000 points on a £50 spend
Code is XXGLDR valid till 31/01/12.
Says its for first online grocery order but worth trying on any account just in case
Does anyone know if you can find out if a code is still valid on the Tesco website, if so how
Thanks
I used this code last week for my first order. It accepted it online fine, but when it was delivered the delivery note said it wasn't valid. So don't bother.0 -
Just checked my receipt from last week shop. I didn't get 100o pts either:mad:. when I checked again I can see reductions meant I was under £50 DOH!:(Regards

Firstly hi and secondly any help would be appreciated.
I currently have £200.00 in Tesco vouchers that I have recieved for current soending year ending 2011, I am hoping to get the same if not better in the year ending 2012, I am then hoping and with fingers crossed aiming for £100.00 in the early part of 2013.
My reasons for this I would like to use the vouchers to take my wife and i and our two children on a fantastic holiday. I appreciate there are lots of ifs and maybe as to weather I attain the said amounts but I did. Could anyone advise with the said accumilated points worth £500.00 what this would give me towards a Tesco/Virgin or like holiday company and would it be worth it the approx holiday cost would be £5,000 give or take a few more hundred ??
I thank you in advance but I just want to check that I am not wasting my time accumilatimg these points.
Points are from purchases in store/fuel/and Tesco credit card.0 -
hi
just a few things for you to think about as i have used deals to book with butlins and cosmos.
-the vouchers can only be used off the full price of hol no operator discounts can be used so be aware you may not save a massive amount
-go on the deals website to see what brochures you can order from and have a look at hols/costs now to check they'd suit you, once you have got the vouchers you are tied to that specific company and brochure.
-with £500 between 4 people you should be ok but double check maximum amount per person you can exchange.
-the double points tesco ran would have bumped up your total for 2011 so unless they run it again you may not get as much for 2012(unless your good at getting extra points!)
i exchanged £250 vouchers in dec 2010 and got £1000 worth of cosmos vouchers to use june2011 we go to the same resort in furteventura so didnt have much choice when booking and really only saved £200 ish as could have booked same hol with discounts cheaper elsewhere. but saying that it was a fantastic hotel and booked to return this year as soon as we got back.
personally i find the clubcard exchange/double up better for me when they run that and this year spent most of my vouchers on toys, clothes and wine at xmas(mind you i do get staff disc too which helps)
best thing is to visit the website and maybe call them to answer any questions you have. even if you save them and then decide not to use them off a hol you still have them for shopping etc..0 -

Personally now the good old days of lots of codes and offers with Tesco has gone and it's down to a miserly point per £1 spent I don't hold any loyalty out for Tesco anymore.
Think they've made an error in scrapping the double points just so they can knock 20p off a few items!!
Just completed an online shop and having spent £100 to see it say 'you have earnt 100 clubcard points' is pretty poor...a whopping £1 in deals hardly makes me want to stick with them and not drive to my local Morrisons since the £4 delivery charge is more than I'll spend on fuel....
I'd be interested in knowing how many customers they've lost since stopping 4x points on most deals and taking away double points on grocery shopping? Spending £1000 just to get £30 in deals back is no great deal I don't feel.....0 -

Couldn't agree more. The points aren't worth collecting any more, and you can save twenty times the value of the points just by switching to Lidl or Aldi for the bulk of your groceries and buying the rest from somewhere like Waitrose.
We reached the conclusion earlier this year when a nice new Aldi opened that we no longer needed Tesco at all. There's also a smug satisfaction in seeing their poor results.0
