Well that will teach me, having moaned about how long the medical assessment report was taking, I now hear from DWP that they are stopping ESA because I do not qualify ...
.. the Limited Capability for Work only scored 6 (can't bend or kneel) and you need 15 points. The assessment is way off - I am still recovering from a shattered leg at Christmas - why no points for difficulty walking, picking things up, carrying etc - does anyone know exactly how this works ?
The letter states flatly that ESA has been stopped. Am I allowed to appeal, it doesn't say so anywhere ?

Yes you can appeal, a little more info here http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/employment-and-support-allowance/esa-appealsThe bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Congratulations on passing your medical, means you can get back to some kind of work.
There is a guy who rents a unit from me who is in a wheelchair and can't use or feel his legs, he works a 50 hour week!

In DWP terms they have failed their medical.
Your post is not really very helpful to the OP.0 -
You only have 28 days to appeal, but I would get an appointmnet with benefits and welfare worker at CAB to help you put your case together.Well that will teach me, having moaned about how long the medical assessment report was taking, I now hear from DWP that they are stopping ESA because I do not qualify ...

Does he not find it strange his landlord monitoring his working hours?
Is a rent increase in the pipeline ?0 -
Come on guys, stop shaking the stick at somebozo, i know what he means.
There are literally thousands of job you can do without having to kneel, bend, pick things up.
I have osteoporosis, multiple joint arthritis, pernicious aneamia and i still manage to work full time.
Sorry OP but it wouldnt be a case of 'get a job on Monday' If your ESA stopped would nt you be able to get JSA until you found a suitable job.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Its far too easy to generalise and attack people, all illnesses/disabilities affect different people in different ways,we are not here to judge people but to help when and where we can.0 -
I dont think somebozo attacked him, or judged him, i think that some people need a bit of motivitation and to be reminded that there is always someone worse off than themselves. Its the thing that gets me outa bed on a morning.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
