    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
    Currently we choose one book every morning together to read at home, but from September we dont go in their classroom so then hew will be choosing his own.
    He is actually a member of the library, and i feel quite dumb for not thinking of that option!
    I also want to buy some books too.
    I've been trying to find some Oxford learning tree ones at a good price, we both love these ones, reminds me of my school days lol

    There's at least one set on The Book People for £6.99 - search on Oxford and scroll through.

    We didn't love the gruffalo as much as the other Julia Donaldson/Axel Sceffler books. Our absolute faves in this house are The Smartest Giant in Town and A Squash and a Squeeze (which inspired my user name!!)
