I will hit the big five-oh!!! in November and was hoping to go to Tenerife for a few days with some friends. However, the flights to Tenerife are really expensive for the dates I want - can't get anything much under £200. I then thought of mainland Spain, as the flights are half the price or less but I know it is not likely to be as warm there as it will be in the Canaries. To complicate matters, I can't really book a package as we won't all be travelling from the same area, so will be easier to meet up at our destination.
I am sick of going round in circles looking at airfares and apartments. Any bright ideas to help anyone?

I wasn't interested in going on 18-30 holidays when I was aged 18-30, so I most certainly am not now! Also, even if I wanted to, I couldn't go because the maximum age is 35 (not 30) so I would have to have cosmetic surgery and a false passport!
Any helpful suggestions anyone?3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Find your destination first. Check flights from the different areas and once you have found the availability - give or take a few hours - let everyone else book their own. Packages are so much easier when there is a group of you going from different areas.
Just had a thought - what about James Villas? You can get them to accommodate upto 10 people.Mags - who loves shopping0 -

It's deciding on the destination that I'm struggling with. As I said, I would love to go to Tenerife or one of the other Canary Islands but the flights are just coming up so expensive. I'm not sure what you mean when you say 'packages are so much easier when there is a group of you going from different areas'
. Surely the opposite is true - you can't all book the same package deal if you need to fly from different airports? Apologies if I have misunderstood you! :embarasse 3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

Seems with age you lost not only your youthful looks but also your sense of humour.0 -

I have a very well-developed sense of humour thank you! Did you not detect the irony in my reply! Also, just because I don't think I'd pass for 35, that doesn't necessarily mean that I look as though I am nearly 50!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

obviously from the 'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' school of thought! Doesn't do it for me though!
