Gradual Wake Alarm Clock

Hiya, Firstly, I hope I have put this in the right place, was thinking techie board, but it's not really a techie thing so feel free to move, thanks.
I had the phillips wake up light and I loved it, however, it always has an annoying buzz noise and the time didn't keep well, so I returned it today. My problem now is I need something else. I went to currys and comet but they don't think there is anything else available.
I'm not too bothered about the light to wake me up, but I do really like the gradual noise. I prefer to wake up to the radio, but any gradual wake up is better than a blaring noise first thing.
Searching google the only one I can find is the gradual wake alarm clock GE 74839 on Amazon but it is currently unavailable.
Does anyone know of another good slow waking alarm clock?
Thanks, and sorry for the long post!!

Hi how much are you looking to spend?0

Ah i see you've gone offline. Anyway for your return i have seen a few in the past while looking for an alarm suitable for a super heavy sleeper! i.e the Sonic Boom, super loud one

I don't know what your budget is but here are some i found:
Argos £29.39 - Oregon Projection Alarm Clock Radio
Comwales.com £46.23 - Naf Naf Sunrise Alarm Clock Radio
blueunplugged £60 - Macally TunePro iPod dock Radio Alarm Clock
pixmania £30 - Naf Naf Gradual Wake Alarm Clock (expensive postage £9.20)0 -
Oh wow thanks! I'll have a look at these. I'm not too bothered about the price the one I have just returned cost £60.
I'm really not a morning person and therefore find waking up slowly is much nicer!
I'll let u know how I get on with these ones.
Thanks again0 -
set a cheap switch timer to bring a lamp on about 15 minutes before your normal alarm clock goes off.
In the longer term...
Get your bedtime routine sorted and aim to wake up a little before your alarm HAS to wake you, it's much better to wake on your own rhythm than to be rudely awakened. If you're a dayshift worker, go to bed and get up at the same time every night/day, don't stay up really late at the weekends then lie in bed the next morning, it wrecks your sleeping pattern...
sort this out and you'll be more of a morning person.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I didn't realise there were so many different makes of these daylight alarm clocks. I have been looking at the Lumie range at lumie.com to buy for my husband. I've seen one on Boots website. Good luck in finding one.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

I have a Lumie one. I think they were the originals?
They aren;t cheap but mine is great and they also do repairs should it need any in the future.

I have the Advanced one because I like a snooze button, but they have a variety of different ones.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

How about one (that is, nearly all of them) that comes on with your choice of radio station (at your choice of volume)?
It's not too traumatic, and I'm always awake within 5 or 10 minutes.0 -
I'd say that was risky in case OP's choice of volume doesn't wake them up! They prob need i to get gradually louder in case of being extra tired!0

i'm sure i've seen these in avon, quite cheap but how good they are i have no idea.0

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, download the (free) iWakeUp application from the AppStore. It's absolutely brilliant.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
