should i be concerned, bought tickets for a musical last saturday with my lloyds amex card the tickets arrived on tuesday however it is still not showing on lloyds online site

i went on earlier this week and on the account detail the difference of the credit limit and the available limit differed by the cost of the tickets (£156) ie said limit was £3500, avialble credit was £3344. however the avaiable limit is now showing as £3500 (same as the credit limit) so appears the pending payment has dropped off, but not showing on the card itself?

I have not had any emails from the theatre to say theres a problem and the tickets have arrived, but wondered if i should call and see whats going on? as i am worried if for instance the payment has faiiled and they cancel the tickets?

    Nothing to worry about.

The payment is "pending" for 3 working days after which the authorisation does drop off.

It isnt showing on the card yet because the theatre havent actually collected it yet (note the word YET).

On most card payments you make the retailer does collect it after 3 working days but occaionally not so this is why (i assume) you havent ever noticed this sequence of events.

There is nothing to worry about.

Call them by all means for peace of mind but everything sounds fine.

The payment will not show until the retailer actually collect it and it may not be financially viable for them to do this regularly if they are quite small.

Eg your local tesco will do their banking every day. Your local corner shop might only do it once a week. Therefore a payment to Tesco will come off after 3 working days, for the corner shop it may be more like 7 days ... etc

I don't know how true this is.. All payments go through in a day or two for all shops I've ever been in...

    Hi Anna

I sometimes have this happen on my barclaycard when I buy petrol from a local garage.

I buy petrol say on the 1st.
The authorisation is showing as a pending transaction on the 1st.
The authorisation drops off, but the money isn't charged to my account, say on the 8th.
On the 14th, the transaction is charged to my account.

It's nothing to worry about, I have it frequently from that retailer. ;)

As long as they got an authorisation code which they did as it effected your open to buy balance (Available credit) they can debit that money whenever they want, you will probably find they will do it nearer to the show date :)
